GS-35F-0337P

SatCom Global proudly supports our United States governmental agencies with commercial satellite services and equipment, whether for emergency back up, asset tracking or international/remote telecommunications and data services. In conjunction with our GSA schedule, we are determined to aid each governmental entity in making the buying process as easy and simple as possible.

It is recommended by the FSS to follow criteria to make a Best Value determination when placing an order. To help with your Best Value Analysis, SatCom Global has taken each item from FAR Part 8.404 and addressed them individually, including:

Program FAR Part 8.404 (b) (2) (i)
Special Features of the Supply or Service Required for Effective Program

SatCom Global is a premier Iridium Service Provider; one of only a few service providers to qualify as a Value-Added Manufacturer (VAM) and a Value-Added Reseller (VAR) - as distinguished by Iridium. This combination enables SatCom Global to often be the first to deliver solutions by building products and systems to meet customers' demands as well as resolve equipment issues on a case-by-case basis.

  • At SatCom Global, customer service is our #1 priority. We assure that a live SatCom Global employee is available anytime you call us, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week - whether you dial the short code on your Iridium handheld phone or call us on our main line. Business questions, including billing, HughesNet, channel partners and rentals, are answered during normal business hours. Technical Customer Service is available 24x7 for Iridium by our Tier I Technical Support team.
  • SatCom Global is the only U.S based service partner to have a Service Level Agreement (SLA) with Iridium, which assures the most comprehensive and quality customer service. SatCom Global provides all Tier I Technical Service support for customers. SatCom Global has a service standard set with Iridium in order to escalate rare or complex situations to Iridium Tier II Technical Service promptly and effectively. The managers of Iridium and SatCom Global Technical Service Teams conduct a monthly review to assess service effectiveness, problems, and delivery in light of current business needs and available resources.
  • The Iridium system has a completely global coverage area, reaching 100% latitudes of the earth. The 66 active satellites circumnavigate the earth in 6 polar orbits at all times in the Iridium constellation. There are 48 spot beams per satellite. The constellation boasts 13 orbital spare satellites although life expectancy is projected to at least 2014. This system uses cross-link technology, meaning it never relies on landlines when making an Iridium-to-Iridium call.
With optimal conditions (line of sight), Iridium has 99.8% call completion.

Trade-in Considerations

SatCom Global offers customers the chance to sell their used satellite equipment either for a trade-in credit or for money back via SatCom Global's Buyback Program. After you discuss specific product details and pricing potential, SatCom Global will gather basic equipment and customer information on a Buyback Agreement Form and have the customer ship the equipment and form for inspection and quote.

Once SatCom Global receives and examines the satellite equipment, a representative will contact the customer with a price quote within 10 business days. The quoted price will be derived from the completeness of the equipment (all accessories and cables), the condition, age and the quality of the accessories with the equipment.

Contact SatCom Global for a list of buyback items currently available for purchase.

Probable Life of the Item Selected

In addition to the manufacturer's warranty, the Iridium satellite network is highly robust. There are currently 66 active satellites in polar orbits plus an additional 13 spares already in orbit. Continuous improvement in the utilization of on-board resources now has the expected life of the constellation projected through 2014.

Program FAR Part 8.404 (b) (2) (iv)
Warranty Considerations

There is a one-year manufacturer's warranty on all new Iridium-based satellite communications equipment.

Program FAR Part 8.404 (b) (2) (v)
Maintenance Availability

SatCom Global will be able to provide satellite phone configuration and repair benchwork (beyond manufacturer's warranties) as required by individual users. SatCom Global can repair or replace components on the phone down to the mainframe, including antenna, LCD, screen, skins, as well as configuration and software loading.

SatCom Global does have a returned materials authorization (RMA) process designed to offer end-users a simple and expeditious support solution for products under warranty and out of warranty.
