Satcom Global are delighted to share that Iridium has announced enhanced packages for their global ‘smartphone’ access device, the Iridium GO!, which now include voice minutes. The Iridium GO! provides global voice and text messaging over satellite for multiple smartphone users as well as low speed data services offered through optimized apps.
The compact and versatile BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) solution is now available to Satcom Global customers with ‘in bundle’ voice within the GO! 75, 150 and Unlimited plans, offering great value at attractive prices. Available from 15th July, details of the new offering are below:
- The GO! 75 plan will come with 75 inclusive minutes which can be used for either data or voice calls.
- The GO! 150 plan will come with 150 inclusive minutes which can be used for either data or voice calls.
- The GO! Unlimited plan will include 150 minutes of voice calls, additional to unlimited data / SMS.
- Available to both new and existing subscribers. Existing customers will have their plans updated automatically.
The Iridium GO! which brings global satellite connectivity to your smartphone or tablet, is a compact and lightweight satellite solution ideal for adventurous leisure travellers and tour guides ensuring they can stay in touch whilst in the wilderness. The portable device offers a reliable communications solution for Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) undertaking disaster relief, mission work and humanitarian assistance in remote locations. The versatile device is also well suited a variety of maritime applications including the offshore sector as well as sailboats and recreational fishing.
Iridium have also announced the following Iridium GO! enhancements to improve user experience:
- Iridium Mail & Web app bringing enhanced web browsing for iOS users and Android 5.0+ OS support
- Iridium GO! app brings simplified contact screen editing and Japanese character support added for SMS.
- Iridium GO! firmware enables improved data network connection reliability, and support for auto-proxy web browsing.
