Supporting Team Tyne Innovation in the Talisker Atlantic Challenge

Talisker Atlantic Challenge - starting Wednesday 12th December 2018

Satcom Global is proud to support Team Tyne Innovation on their 3000 mile row across the Atlantic along with our partner OCENS. 

The team are taking part in the Talisker Atlantic Challenge from La Gomera in the Canary Islands to Antigua; a journey expected to take upwards of 50 days, where they could experience extreme weather and waves of up to 50ft.

Satcom Global, along wIth partner OCENS has provided Team Tyne Innovation with the vital satellite communications needed to help keep them safe and connected through the race, to help them share their story and raise money for charities close to their hearts.

The equipment bundle Satcom Global has provided to Team Tyne Innovation for the duration of the challenge features the below solutions:

  • Iridium GO! satellite hotspot for contact with family and friends and progress updates,
  • Inmarsat IsatHub iSavi  device for sending larger video files back to shore via the Inmarsat network
  • Iridium Extreme 9575  satellite phone for dedicated daily calls with race HQ. An additional handset owned by the team will be sealed in a waterproof grab bag for emergencies.
